Good Game Get! Puzzle Bots
I love puzzle games, and I’m not ashamed to admit I use a game’s hint feature from time to time. My brain doesn’t always want to go where the puzzle master intends, but that doesn’t mean I’m not up to a challenge. Recent games like Machinarium, Limbo and Braid scratched a cerebral itch like few others. However, they can also be very exhausting. Which is why I...

Good Game Get! Interview
… in which we ask a game developer three specific questions based off our site name! GGG! Interview #004 Adam Saltsman Adam Atomic’s Canabalt is the best iOS game. I want to gift it to everyone I know with an iPhone or iPod touch. Brandon Boyer said, “It’s going to be quite some time before you find something so simple so thrilling again.” Tim Rogers calls it...

Why I'm Not Buying a 3DS on Launch...
…and these (I believe) are all coming out before the 3DS hits. I will probably stick with my DSi XL for a while. One of the reasons I love the DS is the classic look to my favorite games. I like sprites, what can I say. The 3DS may end up being really cool, but I’m looking towards the iPad 2 as my highly polished gaming experience of 2011. Even so, I know I’ll put more...

Good Game Get! Interview
… in which we ask a game developer three specific questions based off our site name! GGG! Interview #003 Simon of HandCircus HandCircus single, multi-tappedly, and tiltedly solidified for me that the iPhone was indeed a viable gaming platform. Their freshman debut with Rolando and the even more magical Rolando 2 proved early in the life of the App Store that quality and lovingly crafted games...

What the Voxel: Lexaloffle's Voxatron
Just when you though this whole retro throwback business was getting stale, Lexaloffle decides to change it up by debuting this incredible looking game made entirely of voxels. Voxel A voxel (volumetric pixel or, more correctly, Volumetric Picture Element) is a volume element, representing a value on a regular grid in three dimensional space. The top-down classic arena shooter inspired title...

What I've Been Playing
The “It’s Frickin’ Cold Outside” Edition 2011 has been a bit of a bust for me so far, but between some pretty good football on TV (go Steelers!) and a few really excellent games on each of my devices, I’ve been weathering the New Year better than expected. When it’s cold and dark outside, there’s nothing better than a few quality video games to wile...

Good Game Get! Donkey Kong Country Returns
The platformer is a Nintendo genre. No one has ever really done it better, and Nintendo’s intelligent decision to have Retro Studios refresh Rare’s old Donkey Kong Country franchise could not have come at a better time in the Wii’s life-cycle. The game is hard, and some reviewers have complained about that - but they seriously should reconsider the initial origins of gaming...

What the Verizon iPhone Means for iOS Gaming
The most popular mobile games platform is about to get even bigger, and that is great news for us iOS gamers. The most popular platforms always get the best games because developers can take more chances with the greater audience. I for one am absolutely stoked to finally use the GPS capabilities of the Noby Noby boy app. - Kyle

Good Blog Get! The Needlemouse
You can’t hate Sega - I legitimately think they have been trying hard with the Sonic games, so it’s kind of sad when the new games get slammed critically. Popular media doesn’t really take them seriously anymore and the fanbase has dwindled dramatically, but one blogging dude in Japan has decided to primarily focus on Sega with his new blog. The Needlemouse seeks to...

In case you didn’t know I’m batshit intensely crazy about Mother 3, and I post about it and relate posts to the game as much as possible. The beautiful pixel artists and great game designers at Brownie Brown created a bonus RPG adventure for Professor Layton and the Specter’s Flute. Wouldn’t you know - it looks just like Mother 3’s art style. - Kyle via Tiny...
