f-zero woes
F-Zero GX for the Gamecube is awesome, and I seriously implore you to seek it out and buy it used for like $7. Totally an excellent bargain. My girlfriend and I picked it up for around the price last year and it was a blast for months and we still play it every now and then.
It’s just this perfect speedy racing game and while I like Wipeout for the Playstation consoles, I have to say that F-Zero just tends to do some things better. I think Wipeout visually is better at times, especially when you factor in the amazing Wipeout HD, but F-Zero GX really does have some great game mechanics going for it.

So where are the new F-Zero games? The newest F-Zero game isn’t even vapor ware because it hasn’t been announced yet. The Nintendo DS is five years old and Nintendo has never once said whether or not they were making an F-Zero game for the DS. Hell they could just port the N64 version and I’d be happy.
The GameBoy Advance had F-Zero: Maximum Velocity at launch and that game was awesome, and hard, but perhaps just like GX it didn’t sell as well as Nintendo had hoped.
The Wii has been out for three years now and again, no sign of an F-Zero game. It’s a complete bummer, and hopefully they’ll figure out a way to sell the franchise without ruining it, but that’s probably pretty difficult and one of the main reasons they’ve kept their lips tight.
