I’m saddened that this wasn’t an accident that would render Molyneux incapable of talking about that stupid fucking Project Natal and that stupid fucking little boy.

Go on, click on that Project Natal link above. It’s a god damn lifestyle video of people playing video games without controllers.

All the cool hipster indie music that plays in the background is totally rad too!

Seriously, the video is just absurd and unbelievable. If Natal and the 360 actually plays games like that, I am giving up on video games, and retiring from journalism. 

Do I hate motion controls? No, but I don’t like gimmicky motion controls. Natal is just that. The demo games they’re previewing look uninspiring and boring. Do I like to have an actual controller instead of waving my arms around like an asshole? Yes.

It saddens me that the industry is making such a huge push towards hardware innovation instead of game innovation. It’s not good when the controller and the way you control a game gets in the way of what makes a game fundamentally great, which is a well executed idea.
