A commercial like this for a game in the U.S. could never work and would probably be met with confusion and mockery.

While it may seem ridiculous that this woman is crying in an interview for a commercial about Mother 3 - it’s powerful and made me tear up a bit just seeing her remember the game.

Maybe I only teared up because I know what she could be crying about; because I cried too.

In my original recommendation of Mother 3, I said it “may possibly be one of the most important video games ever made.”

I still mean that. It’s essential gaming.
