A Look at Jenova Chen’s Design Mind [E3 2010]

e3ssentials is GGG’s way of hand-picking some coolness at e3 this year, so you don’t have to wade through the boring stuff. Also, I lied because this is after I said I wouldn’t have anything else to post about E3. Wrong! I won’t make assumptions like that again.

Adam Robezzoli of Attract Mode interviewed the ever so seemingly humble Jenova Chen at E3 of thatgamecompany about his past games, and the future with Journey.



Yes that was an absurd(ly awesome) chip cover of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’ at the beginning by bit musician, Nobuooo.

I especially like Jenova Chen’s comment on narrative and how video games shouldn’t be looked at just as a new way to use other mediums such as making interactive films, but instead should try to niche out in other directions.

I’m fairly stoked for Journey right about now.
