Surprise! Maré Odomo’s Letters to an Absent Father mini-comic

A while back I was really into independent comics, but then I lost interest for one reason or another. I still read Scott Pilgrim and am always interested in my good friend Matt Kish’s work, but other than that I don’t really spend money on comics.

Recently I posted about Maré Odomo’s excellent web comic Letters to an Absent Father and how Odomo has produced the comic into a mini-comic you could purchase from him.

I didn’t buy it.

However, yesterday my girlfriend gave me one of the coolest surprises ever! She bought the comic from Maré and had it especially in mind for me!

She even asked him to draw our Pomeranian Lion-O in the book. Check out that Thundercats light beacon!

Maré also drew some really rad video game controllers on the back, along with a DS, a GameBoy, a Gameboy SP and a GameBoy Advance.

It’s a great comic and will be going in my Pokémon HeartGold case and then in my Pokémon Black case, and then in my Pokémon Gray* case!
