merriweather post pavillion

This morning I finally got a chance to listen to Animal Collective’s newest album, Merriweather Post Pavillion.

I’ve listened to it it once since then and I have to say that it’s a pretty incredible album, and long over due after Strawberry Jam and the surrounding EPs. Interestingly enough, I remember many of these songs from when I saw them play in 2007.

Sonically Animal Collective really haven’t sounded more colorful, and I think this record re-establishes their credibility as an ultra-creative band.
