good game get! bitgenerations: digidrive

Recently through an ongoing sale that Play Asia is having I decided to pick up bitgenerations: Digidrive for the GBA and a good decision it was! First the game boxes for bit generations series are cleverly designed and absolute cute. They’re much smaller than boxes we have here in the states and the graphic design is something that Nintendo must’ve outsourced because while nerdy and science fictiony, it’s completely awesome.

The game like all other games in the bitgenerations series has a simple premise, simple 8bit graphics, and great music. Digidrive’s gameplay is incredibly simple but endearing as it can become challenging. Essentially you guide three different “vehicles” into intersecting lanes and once you get enough vehicles of the same type in one lane you’ll begin creating fuel. Fuel is important because you’ll have to collect it, combo it, and combine it, to get enough to push a core away from a piston. Of course the catch is that once the piston meets the core, it’s game over.

The game becomes hectic when trying to organize and distribute the three vehicles to maximize your fuel creation and of course the piston speeds up as the game becomes more difficult and ultimately getting the best time is your only challenge in the game.

The music and art in the game are incredibly simple but awesome all the same as you can change the skins and music of the game before you play a round of Digidrive. The gameplay is addictive and short so the game is definitely a fantastic pick up and play title. Even better, you can turn off your GBA or DS and it’ll save where you were. It’s kind of like putting your system to sleep except even better because you won’t be wasting any battery power.

If you want to add this collectible to your collection, I suggest getting it now as it’s one of the few bitgenerations game you can still buy without having to pay outrageous prices.
