Metroid Famicom Disk System Art

The Famicom Disk System’s main feature was the ability to rewrite disks and save games, which wasn’t available at the time on the current cartridges. Eventually the ability to save came to cartridges which quickly made the ridiculous Famicom Disk System obsolete.



My favorite part about the Disk System is it’s absolutely cute yellow disk dude logo. So superb! My second favorite part would be the absolutely awesome boxart some of the disk games had. The packaging is awesome too; from the translucent box to the engraved Nintendo in the plastic of the disk, it really just is too cool to not look at, or not want in your collection.

The art for Metroid is absolutely awesome, and it gets me stoked for Team Ninja’s new Metroid: Other M game. Even better, no other Metroid boxart features Samus leaping while firing her blaster at some unknown foe. Probably Ridley’s punk ass.



Like I said above, even the back of the box has awesome design.



Check out that engraved caps locked Nintendo logo! Don’t forget that cute yellow disk logo dude. So awesome.
